Prequels???

Has anyone else noticed that there is a small craz going around in Hollywood with prequels?

I have heard that there is a prequel to Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, there is a prequel for Batman now (Batman Begins).
There was The Blair Witch 3 (The Prequel)
And I think it was the one to start it (other then Star Wars ofcourse) Hannibal.
And now I just found The Exorcist IV: The Beginning

Can anyone think of some others?

I like movies but it just struck as odd that all these prequels are very popular now.

It's because hollywood has started to run out of ideas for movies. They want big money making films without the effort of original plotlines. And if you can capitalize on a franchise that you know already made money, you will, that's what they're doing.

I don't mind some of the prequels, but it is getting a little out of hand. Can you imagine what movies will be like in 50 years?
