Spyder Compact -old school- being a budget player, I don't have the cash to drop $1k on a marker, so I play with an old Spyder Compact, one from back the time when they where made in the USA, not they foren crap they put out now.
My gun is all but stock, the only mods are a brass eagle 'power barrel' witch preformes better than you think something BE would, and a new, metal, ball-detent cover. Everything else is factory. as far a reliability, it rarely fails. I've only had a handfull of ball chopps, and paint only breaks if its the paint's fault. The worst thing about the gun the pullback on the side, witch connects to the hammer. This wouldn't be so bad, if dirt couldn't get in. Field striping this marker requires both a filips head screwdriver, and an allen wrench. Needless to say it is a pain if something needs attention, even the cheap VL guns come apart without tools nowdays. overall, its a good gun, just old technology. 6.5 of 10 | |||||

I have a spyder compact that I still play with too! I either use that or my spyder SE. They work great for outdoor play and I haven't had either of them ever break down(which is hard to say about my cocker).
