style doesn't mean anything, you can look like a scrub and still blow people's faces off. or you can look like you are really good, shooting the best gun and wearing the most expensive gear, and you dont shoot anybody. paintball is turning into kids that care more about what they are wearing rather than how good they are playing. buying the nicest and rarest gear might make you feel cool but it doesn't mean anything once you step on the field. just my opinion

From my point of view this pretty much sums it up, though I don't see anything wrong with expressing ones tastes in the gear purchased. Though what motivates those tastes/purchases varies from person to person. Some reasons could be argued as better than others, though just like in real life most people to a degree care about their appearance, even the people who say "I dont care what other people think" think that "independent" attitude is what in one way or another defines them as "different from everyone else", just as the guy who has the 1 of 1 monster marker thinks that is what makes him "different from everyone else". Apples and oranges. Its been a long day....

I personally dont think it matters what you wear, just wear what feel comfortable to you. We all think we are cool in what we wear, and you know what as long as I'm comfortable, I think that's fine!
