was "sold " to a kid by the name of Walter Weston
pay by check was denied by the bank
and all of the contact info including the phone # were not working #s

The solution is pretty simple--USE A THIRD PARTY!

You ship your stuff to a third party, they ship their stuff to the third party, once both arrive, the third party ships them off. Many reputable stores offer this service, including Addicts.

I charge the cost of shipping +$10. I don't ship your stuff until I get his stuff, and vice versa.

If his stuff never arrives, I ship yours back to you, and no one is out their gear.

This prevents the whole "you ship first" drama. If someone is unwilling to use a third party, then they are probably trying to scam you.

Oh, and another word of advice---NEVER, EVER accept a check from someone you don't know---and know well.

If they want to buy your stuff bad enough, they can go to the same bank that their check is drawn on and get the cash. If they are worried about a reciept, then write them one. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just your name, their name, a description of the item, how much you sold it for and make sure you mark it PAID IN FULL once you have cash in hand.

If you are desperate enough to sell something that you don't demand either cash or a money order or cashiers check, then you should be aware that there is a possiblity that you are going to get screwed.

Some people will not even blink an eye at writing a bad check or a check on a closed account, or even write you a check and then stop payment on it before you can get to the bank.

frank is right, this forum is public and the guy could be reading all this, if you find anything out or have any info, just PM it to nathaniel, theres no reason to put important shit up on here that will give the guy a heads up.
