Action Center WWII game on Oct 2nd (feedback)

I haven't seen anyone mention the Action Center game on Oct 2nd and was wondering how everyone liked it.
Was the game on the 2nd about par for the course for the scenario games at Action Center or was this one better or worse than usual?

My Take:
Pros-
1)The owner Jeff is a great guy. He's very friendly and likeable( as was everyone I talked to that helped run the event, reffs included.)
2)I really liked the field itself. GREAT layout.
3)They sold food and drinks for those needing them(no idea how the price was as I had my own food).
4) Punctual, no waiting for slackers.
5)Strick (and fair)on the rules.
6)Tanks were provides for each team.

Cons- ( I hesitate to even list the cons because I liked the owner and grew so much. It was a pleasure to meet them)
1)Entry fee was a bit steep for three 2 hour games(last game was only 30 minutes or so). Especialy when the fee was $35 the day of for entry. I don't mind the higher entry for the "day of" IF it is posted somewhere that its going to be that way. I double checked the Action Center web site when I got home and it doesnt say anywhere that I could find that the fee for "day of" would be 35.00. The only reason I stayed was that it was the 1st scenario for 2 of the people with us and we drove 2 hours to get there.
2) I would have liked to have had 2 dead zones. One at each teams fort instead of just the one next to the closest fort. When you got killed on the German end of the field it was a long walk to the dead zone and then you had to wait for the re-insertion. You usually missed 2 re-insertions while walking to the dead zone from the german side. The american side was 50 yards from the dead box so if you got killed there you were reinserted in just a few minutes.
3)$60.00 for the paint being used seemed very steep. It seemed about the same quality as the paint sold at aliens for $40.00 a case.
4) I spent less money for entry and 1 case of paint at Aliens for 2 days than I did for entry and 1 case of paint at WWII.
5) Biggest complaint I heard was;
Although I had a good time I heard ALOT of people complaining about the prizes. The info on the game said 2 PB guns to be given away for those that registered early and they would be giving away "new and used prizes". They didnt mention the "used" prizes were the 2 guns they gave away.(Not only were the 2 guns OLD, but the one I looked at afterwards when the guy who won it was complaining about it, but it was very beat up and still had paint all over the inside from when the last person using it broke paint in it. It was never even cleaned before given away.) That was the used stuff. The "new" stuff looked to be a handfull of old inventory Tshirts in LRg or XXL only. They gave away about 25+ I'd say, and 5 or 6 Goggle bags. The people I talked to were expecting a bit more than old beatup guns and Tshirts that were too small or too large for many of them. Especialy after paying $60.00 a case for GAP paint and $25-$35 entry.
Conclusion:
All in all I had a good and memorable time but I wont be going to any more Action Center scenario games if this was the standard fee & cost of paint and for the prizes given out. Many others that we talked to said that same.

Question

Hey Rodney,

I met Jeff earlier this year and he does seem to be a friendly guy, I hope he will work with us to put one more scenario games next year.

Action Center put on a game in the spring that had 60-80 people there and good reports but before that I think it has been several years since they did any scenarios, but maybe they just didnt promote it much, so I did not know about it, I am not sure.

How many people attended tha WW2 game?

When Kevin and I signed up I was # 37 on the German side and that made it an even 37 on each side. I'm sure a few more came after. I'd say there were around 40-45max per side.

He has a nice field up there and I'd love to play there more in the future. If you havent seen his field you should go check it out.

PS. The WWII game was posted on this forum as far back as april.... 😉
