Angel 1

I have a speed 05 and love it. I'm very happy with it. Many people are telling me to upgrade to the Angel 1 cus its so much better. I know WDP makes high quality products, but what is the main difference. I really don't care about weight cus we are talking ounces and thats no big deal, it has the lock down feedneck and other whistles. But what is the best thing about it to quantify spending 800 on a used A1?

This is my experience with mine...they are lighter... and no its not a matter of ounces, its almost a matter of a pound. which is alot. anyways big deal. they are actually quite air efficent after about 8-10 cases and changing the stock settings (no need to change the stock settings if you have software version 2:1). I get a hopper and 9 pods off a 68/45... and i still have enough to shoot two more pods. they are really user friendly on the electronic side. they shoot a little bit flatter than the older models. with software verison 2:1+ you can shoot almost any super fragile paint. they like the brittle stuff. their eyes DO self clean. although it takes around 25 shots... mine have always cleaned out if i have had the super rare ball to chop. WDP service on A1s is really great. they release free upgrades for the gun and board very often. Almost everyone who has an A1, never has problems. Ironically, the only person I have seen have a problem with an A1 is me. My exhaust valve stem broke... its a known problem, but its very very rare. you should know how to lube the ram if you had an 05 speed... i was told by wdp techs it needs to be done once every month and a half or so... really easy to do if you are familiar with angels. i also put around a drop or two of "love juice" in it every day of play. they get angry if you dont. thats my take on the A1s.

A1s look sweet, I may get one next year when the prices have come down a little more. Also not everyone and their uncle's goldfish owns one like an Ego. Not that Egos are bad, they are awesome guns too.

Great review GoldberG. I've been seriously considering one of these. They seem like they are the cheapest of the high end guns. You can get an Angel 1 in a package on paintball-online that includes a NXe gun case and a VL XSV loader for $750. That seems really cheap. That's like getting the Angel for $600. And OLED's kick major ass. Full color on tiny screens. Can anyone say, Optimus Maximus?
