first topic: i think it would be bad to bring all of the troops home from iraq because it would make the iraqy people think that they have won the war. slowly bring home the troops from iraq!

slowly bringing home our troops causes the same problem as if we withdrew them quickly. We have not yet changed anything that could be changed as soon as we left. If I had to write a paper on the iraq war contriversy I would relate it to vietnam. Just a suggestion cause the two are very similar( reactions, etc.). If you need more information pm me, I'm actually taking a entire class on just the 60's.
The problem with bringin home our troops now is that we basically accomplished nothing, well at least in the long run. On the flip side, if we leave them any longer the death toll will be great. Why should we stay any longer? Our goals, so far, in the iraq war have not been met and will not be met any time soon. __________________

one more thing just something to think about. How would american citizens feel about bringing home our troops quickly. Could we cope with the thought of lossing a war? America is the superpower, we all feel that we can accomplish anything. Were almost invincible, can we handle a loss?

I think Americans in general are very impatient. We live in a society where everything must be now. And if it isn't then we don't like it. I believe Bush is doing the right thing, sticking with his feelings and keeping on course. War and the outcomes, its changing effect, takes time. It takes time to find bad guys, kill them (or capture them, less effective), and bring about peace.
Apparently the democrats believe that by bringing home the troops will solve all the problems. I think otherwise. We come home and aren't protecting ourselves, whats going to stop them (the terrorist and evil factions) from killing the innocent people there and building an evil empire. Where they will then operate more freely to destroy freedom among the nations of the world. Not sure how clear that is, just some random thoughts of mine. Stem cell.... Mixed issue. In one thought I think its great to be able to help people regenerate body parts and provide further life, but in another thought I don't think we should play God. __________________

Honestly (and no offense intended at all), but there is not enough space or bandwidth on this forum to adequately address these questions.
Nonetheless, I certainly admire your effort. However, as an undergrad, I wrote multiple papers on these subjects and the surrounding societal and constitutional implications (one of which has published in full, others in part). You are more than welcome to take a look at them if you like. I won't e-mail or give you copies (potential for plagarism), however I am more than happy to meet up with you and you can read and ask questions as much as you like. Whether or not they will be helpful is up to you. Also, if you would like to interview people in the academic, legal, and political communities for your work, I would be more than happy to connect you with some people. Let me know, Kyle __________________

My .02 cents:
1. The troops are stuck between a rock and a hard place. They were sent to do things, some of which weren't true, and are now stuck tyring to keep the iraqi's and other middle eastern disidents from killing each other, while trying to avoid becoming the target of more violence. They are trying to keep a peace that the majority want, but the minority keep from happening. Should the troops come home, yes. When, I don't know and honestly I don't think there is anyone right answer. 2. I have a firm belief that stem cell research can eliminate and treat a slew of medical problems ranging from diabetes, heart conditions and other chronic diseases to paralysis and other truamas. I do belive that there are ethical and moral ways of procuring stem cells. This can be accompished through embical (sp?) cord fluid, consent from mothers who are pursuing fertility measures to allow unused and unadopted embryos to be donated for research instead of being destroyed. To be honest with you, I have to agree with Kyle. This forum probably doesn't have the bandwith nor space to accomodate a full analysis and discussion on the social, economic, religous, and legal aspects of either of these topics. __________________

what i think Heres pretty much what i think about the whole thing. The troops need to stay and finish what bush started. But bush needs to leave whats goin on over there to the troops and generals and so on. This came up on a radio show i believe. They had a General talking to them from Iraq and he believes that the government over here needs to just sit back and let the soldiers there do what they need to do. They have their orders and know what to do so they think that the generals there need to take over instead of listening to everything thats being said here in the u.s. He said that if they could just take control and do everything they need to get done over there they could come home sooner. He also believes himself that pulling out is a bad idea and so do the troops there. They want to stay and finish what they started. anyways hope this helps.
