I had a good time... as did the rest of team OpsGear...

One thing I did notice though.. with there being so much going on to get points and what not..completing missions and so on... I did notice that you (Allen) were having a bit of a trying time with things coming up missing... I would just go over these small details in the pre-game briefing... just to cover bases so that it doesnt happen during the game.

But over all.. I had a good time, and it was nice to work/play with my team and actually use tactics learned in some intense firefights!

What other scenario ideas have you had for that area? Anything modern day? Like an Iraqi invasion... or even something like a Vietnam themed game?
I know David at OpsGear has some amazing "shoot-through" material that we use in the kill house for setting rooms up, and hallways... You could easily build an entire "village" in that low-land with this stuff.. Just something for you to think about..

But yet again.. I had a great time.. Thank You Allen, and everyone else involved!

It was a great weekend. It was also my 1st Scenario game and I'm very happy that it was such a memerable event. I have a few stories from Aliens 5 that I'm sure will always be some of the highlights of my PB carreer.
Thanks to Allen for holding such a great event.
I would also like to thank Superman and the others that missed out on alot of great PBing to be ref's so everyone else could enjoy the weekend. And another thanks to Z and all the other Aliens, Terminators, and Predators who helped spice up the game. And last but not least, thanks to Spec. Ops for use of the Razorback. I wish the marines could have had a chance to use the tank at least once. That thing is awesome.
Remember, it's not wether you win or loose, its how many friends and memories you make during the event that makes it worth while.
Looking forward to the next one.

Only one thing was Missing but it was a Detonator for the SLAMM. What pisses me off is that the kid did not fess up till we tracked him down 3 hours later.

I did go over the Fuel Dumps in the Briefing and it was printed in the rules as well. Its a new prop so I hope people have learned how it works. There is just no way to predict people's behavior. I had hoped people would be more carefull on the cliff but they did not..

We have several other ideas but I am always open to new ideas. The problem with the Iraq / Al-Qadia scenario is that players dont want to be on the "Evil" team. I am sure mature players would not mind but allot of the Kids would feel slighted if we forced them to the Iraq army.

I have also avoided the classic "War Game" moniker and tried to emphasize the "Scenario Game" concept. I understand there are varying opinons on this subject and I am an Army Veteran of Gulf 1 myself, however I beleive its important to create an image of paintball as its own sport and not a subcagory of war games. The whole Firearm / Military / Violence association that people make needs to be changed in order for more people to percive paintball for what it is.

Thats a bit zen like and I realize some may not agree with my view.

Thats not to say I am opposed to a scenario game taken from history or current politics but I have some concerns about how it would be marketed. I hope that makes sense..

Hey there mini-moose. You did a GREAT job at aliens. I was able to talk to you for a minutes just before the final battle (you were standing right in front of me) and I was impressed by your attidude. Keep up the good work.

ya, alien in the rockies was fun, I had a great time. I was also suprised at the tie in the end. I thought for sure we were going to lose, since we were down points before the end battle but somehow we came back.
