Immigration....legal and illegal.

Whats your thoughts....

Should all illegal immigrants be granted citizenship or should they be booted back to their country and do come legally?

If we allow them to do so, wouldn't that mock our legal system and make it another step closer for other illegal activities, to be looked at as ah, its not so bad.

Add more later, gotta get some sleep.

There are alot of opinions on this and I dont think that anyone has the correct solution. My personal opinion is that we should not grant them citizenship and increase border patrol. There is a proposition out there to build a 700 mile long fence along the border and to increase border patrols. And yes I do realize that this will not stop all people from crossing the border but I do think it will be a huge deterrent for alot of people thinking about crossing the border. Now what about the immigrants still here? From what i have heard, all of their children have a birthright to US citizenship (but i could be wrong on that), so if that is the case then the 2nd generation of the illegal immigrants will eliminate the illegal part and become full legit US citizens. But thats just what i think. If you dont like it you can go eat KFC or something.

The lame thing about the children being "legal" is that their parents performed an illegal action. Thats teaching children that illegal actions are ok, as long as we are trying to make life better for our children.

I am on both sides of the issue, i want to see people better their lives, yet they can do it legally. Also, I don't think it is right that we should have to pay for their education, lunches, etc. etc. etc. , my mom works at a elementry school and many of them are on free lunch, school and what not...... why?

Anyway, legally here , yes. Illegally, no. simple.

The United States gets raped on issues because we have to be so called "pollitally correct"

Illegal immagration is just that. Or medical, legal, and basic infastructure have been strained by these people. If they want to enter the country legally and go through the process then fine.

Illegals that are caught should be put to work in rock quaries or underground coal mines until they pay their fines off.

In my opinion if your not a citizen you don't belong here. Sorry but i don't want ot pay for your healthcare and 35 children that you can't support.

I agree with you all. If I didnt have a s.s. # or a drivers licence, or went around without insurance, I would be breaking the law. Why should they be able to?

I love our country, it is the best in the world, so I completely understand wanting to come here. But if you are going to, go through the right procedure and do it legally, dont come here as a drain and nuicence (SP?) on our economy and lifestyle.

Not to mention, why should I feel bad for not letting you in the country when every night I see that some hispanic gangbanger in West Valley or somewhere shot/stabbed someone.

I agree that illeagal immigration is not the answer to seeking the "American Dream." I have seen what it is like from the other side looking in. I served an LDS mission in Mexico and learned what the process is for a mexican to obtain a passport and visa to go anywhere not just the US. It isn't pretty. Unless you have land, money and some garuntee that you will be coming back you don't get squat. So that leaves the poor to come through illegally.

I think the solution is two fold. the US needs to get tougher on the illegal immigration while helping legal immagrants who want to be citizens to become citizens. Show the world that to come legally has so many benefits that to come illegally is the same as "shooting yourself in the foot." The second part is to work with countries (especially mexico) with high immgration rates to allow their citizens (rich and poor) to obtain the legal documents to go to other countries.

As for illegal immigrants here, If they have children born in the US, then they need to become citizens of the US or go back to their country. Then when their children who are citizens get older they can come back to the US on their own or stay wherever they came from. Just because illegal parents have kids in the US shouldn't mean they get a "get out of deportation free" and a "the government supports my child free" card. IF they don't want to be a citizen boot 'em.

Thats my .02 cents.

its making me mad that they live here illigally. they pay no taxes. they have no insurance.then they go and protest when they shouldnt be here about them wanting to be legal. in my opinion they need to come legally.

The one thing that makes me really mad though is at the protest rallies to grant illegal immigrants their citizenship, people are flying Mexican flags. If you have such strong mother country pride, why dont you just go back. One of the beautiful things about living in this country is that we are able to do things like protest issues that we feel should be resolved a certain way, but dont protest it in the name of another country or fly their flags. Take some pride and fly the stars and stripes.

I wish i could quit my job that pays 9 an hour and be granted free school, lunch, and all the other benefits they are given....life would be great to be an illegal slacker...
