Where to play? Utah County?

Is the Airport going to be our best option down here for speedball?

When is the Pick-Up field closing down? When is another going to take its place?

Is Pegleg, Spec Ops, Other companies going to open up an outdoor field in Utah County?

Spec Ops

Dude spec ops has an out door field. It is up in the mountains, so it doesnt open till summer last year it opend around May I think. This field was build by special ops paintball. Every saturday, they play it is THE PUBLIC vs TEAM SPEC OPS (factory team). This field has everything bushes bunkers, towers you name it. Best of all they dont charge you to play on the field and it is bring your own paint. And they give free fills for compressed air. I am looking to going and playing there, plus the SPPL!! yeah.

It looks like the pickup field will be open until July. The owner of the property told me it would be that long until they get city clearance for the subdivision.

3-4 months at least, good. Does Daryll (sp?) have an idea of where he is going to put up a field after July, if he is able to at all?

The last time Darrel and I spoke about the future of the field, he felt he could find more property and hopefully relocate the field. At that time (a month or so ago) he hadn't found anything yet.

The following is my opinion and not anything that Darrel has said to me personally. But I do think there are some factors that could influence his decision to relocate the field that all of us should think about. 1) How do we treat the field while and after we use it? Do we clean up after ourselves or do we just trash it and leave. I have stayed behind for more than an hour at times, just to pickup (no pun intended) everyone’s trash. I appreciate those of you that have stayed and helped. 2) How do we treat the equipment? Two chronographs have been totally destroyed by people not paying attention and shooting the chrono. The result is that each time they need to be replaced. Since he has now purchased a very nice chrono he cannot just leave it at the field. 3) How do we treat the surrounding area? The owner of the storage sheds has approached us on multiple occasions to get us to clean paint off the storage buildings. Two rows of the storage units have been hit and that 2nd row is a long shot. I think we need to be a bit more careful about where we are shooting paint, especially while getting ready to play. Most of the hits on the storage units have not been during the games, but while getting ready. Depending on where the field is moved to this could be a major factor, especially in light of the problems the PSP is having with players shooting up and damaging their hotel rooms and pools. 4) Are we following the rules that Darrel has asked us to follow? Some of the issues that we could improve in are: Use of barrel socks, removing the air source while working on our guns, use of clean language, no cheating, treating other players with respect and showing good sportsmanship, and keeping masks on while on the playing field. I know most are following the rules, so please help remind those few that struggle with them to read and follow and them. If you don’t know what they are you can read them on the website: pickuppaintball.tk

I for one want to keep this field going so I try to help in every way that I can. I know many of you also do all you can and I appreciate all your help. 99% of you are fun to play with and we have a good time. Most of you do clean up your trash, or at least put it in or around the burn barrel. I enjoy the experience being involved with so many good and fun players. I don’t want you to think I’m complaining I’m just suggesting ways in which we all could help. I’ve been willing to open the field or keep the field open longer, even if I am not playing, because I want everyone to benefit from the field. I rarely experience a problem and hope that things will just get better. I think the more positive we keep things at the field; the more willing Darrel will be to keep it open.

Thanks Darrel for providing us with such a great place to play.

Agrees with Weltcollector......

Thanks a lot Darrel for the time and effort put into providing a field for us to play on. Everyone needs to take a few seconds longer to clean up a couple items of trash and toss it into the fire bin before they leave as clean up their personal gear.

Also from all the threads on the items stolen, who is it that is stealing the gear and why? Paintball is already an expensive enough sport and to add to it having to repurchase the stolen equipment. Grow up and play fair as well as treat others gear as you would your own. In doing so realize that you wouldn't want your gear stolen, so don't steal others' gear.

Someone (scenario junkies, or other) should put on another pump tourney, or we ( members of 801paintball) should organize another day for pump play. That was lots of fun and made a fun day of play for very cheap.

I swear I already put a reply here, but it seems to be gone.

Anyhow, who is up for pump play this saturday at the pickup field? I'd love to play a few pump games on the 1st.

Will the field be open?
