Practice Field

We have had requests for open practice on the new fields at Velocity next year.
We would prefer to keep the new fields in the best shape as possible,
mainly for tournament play.
We have the option of retaining a portion of the old airball field and keeping that as a practice field. We would require a small maintainance fee for all teams that use that field for the year and it would be netted. Teams would be responsible for monitoring and cleanup. Team participants would be issued I.D. This would be a BYOP practice field, except for certain paints.
If this would be good option for players, let us know by e-mail or comments. Decision has to be made shortly.
Thanks

Judd the Stud...
We understand the need to keep the costs down for all the tournament players. We want the players to have a place to practice because there is a need. We also need to keep the Velocity Fields in good condition for the tournaments. It is tough for the organizations that put on these tournaments to have a good place to go and not be hassled by outside elements and problems.
We also have had feedback from players who do not play tournaments due to the costs. Next Wednesday our Velocity Advisory Board meets and this practice issue (there may be ways to make the practice field free), and other issues related to tournament costs, events, etc., will be discussed. This is also why we are discussing the 1st "Top Gun" tournament (one on one). The costs associated with that tournament will allow many individuals to compete without emptying their wallets. This will help activate "sometime players"
to be more active in paintball...which is good for everyone!
One of my first suggestions to the Advisory Board and others would be to have a mtg. with the Team Tournament Captains and discuss the various issues and problems associated with the tournament play and ways to find solutions and maybe reduce the costs where possible, and if possible. We may find ways to better help the paintball arena in Utah. Velocity is commited to do all we can.
Thanks Judd, hope this helps, we'll keep you posted on the decisions.
