Rose Canyon Closed

Sorry for the duplicate post, but I wanted to make sure the word got out before people wasted thier time and money driving somewhere only to find it closed.

:Some of you may already know this from firsthand experience, but Rose Canyon has been closed to Paintballing.

More specifically the left fork of the canyon at the end of the paved road has been closed by the private property owners. yes.... it is private property, that fact has been confirmed by both the county surveyors and recorders office and the information has been relayed to the Sheriffs office.

The Salt Lake County Sheriff began patrolling the canyon two weeks ago and will be ticketing (not warning) all trespassers. The right fork of the canyon does contain some pieces of private property, but is largely owned by the county so you may have some luck up that road as it is not posted as private property. One word of caution though , it won't be too long until that area is closed if the same things happen there as happened on the land on the other side of the fork.

The smart ones in the group already know what caused the closing of the property, however for those of you have haven’t tied two and two together: There WAS a speedball set-up about halfway up the canyon that wasn’t a problem, until the litter from careless ballers began to accumulate. Plastic bottles, paint ball bags, empty pizza boxes and homemade bunkers composed of plywood was a pretty good indication of the lack of respect of the people who were using the land.

While I realize this may have been only a small group of people who created the problem, it is the paintball community that will suffer by loosing yet another good place play.

If you would like some more specifics or would like to voice an opinion, please post it here or email me at .

Thanks
Bart
