Prayers.... Why is it that it isn't heard much to say prayers and prayers are being banned in schools and God's name or the reference to God is being hammered on so much? But at the same time when catastrophes such as hurricanes or earthquakes occur in the USA all you hear people asking you to say prayers?
This country was built on religious freedoms and as time goes by many of the foundations of the U.S.A. are being attacked by many minority groups that nit pick away until they get step by step closer to their plans. Any thoughts on why people don't ask for prayers on regular days? Is it not needed? Just wondering what the local PB community thoughts are. __________________

Because people are afaid to stand up for what they believe in. As a nations we are afraid of offending anyone buy our actions. Evil is not afraid...it rears it's ulgy head any time it wants to. people are free to scream foul profain words...yet it not ok to pause and thank God for the good things in our lives....it's ok to take his name in vein but lets not pray to him. (sarcaism).
Evil will succed when good men do nothing. Pray often it's good for you. My 2 bits. __________________

Say a prayer, do something right and you are frowned upon..... What a new way of life.......... __________________

Krispy- go read the constitution. I mean actually read it for what IT SAYS, not what you think it says or what you have been told it says. You should be able to answer your own question. (hint: "establishment clause").

The constitution is interpreted by many people many different ways. I say that I have never been hurt by, and have never wittnessed anyone struck down for the name of God being in our schools or on our currency. It is rediculous that this is even an argument, too many people with small pee pee's trying to feel powerful. I bet half the people screaming about it on both sides couldn't care less either way. Pure power trip.

i think its sad that the world has come to this but you are so right. People say its freedom of religion to refuse to say under god in the pledge. So would it not be considered freedom of religion if we did say the pledge with under god! ISNT THAT THE WAY ITS SUPPOSED TO BE SAID! __________________

Regardless of your faith or your views towards God, we are a country that was in FACT founded on Chritianity. That said it dose not mean that you have to be a Christian in order to live here and work here. Many cultures and ethnicities have lived here and moved here since the birth of our great nation. They all seemed to get through daily life spending our currency, and even working for our currency that has IN GOD WE TRUST printed clearly on it. I think the down fall of our nation will be the minority of candy assed pansies that just piss and moan until the majority finally gives in to shutthem up, which in the end will only embolden them. Rise up now if you liked the nation you grew up in, because before you know it you will be living in a foreign country that used to be our owne.
